Images from a HORNE Holiday, Part Two

The Parker Girls: Alissa, Katelyn & Jillian

Ryan and I returned to HORNE yesterday well rested, well fed and full of post-Holiday cheer. I am listening to an awesome mixed CD my sister, Katelyn, gave me for Christmas and currently rocking out to "Age of Constent" by New Order.
Ryan took the all of the photographs with a vintage Polaroid camera he gave my as a wedding present. In the photo below I am sporting my favorite Christmas present: a helmet, goggles and silk scarf a la Amelia Earhart (for my Halloween costume next year). Ryan's favorite present was a vintage Santa Claus Christmas Nutcracker. Did you receive any fabulous presents this year? Do share...

Images from a HORNE Holiday, Part One

il Buco, a fabulous East Village restaurant

As I write this post from Ryan's parents home, there is snow falling, babies laughing and pasta being made. Ryan and I spend the first part of our holiday in NYC with my family. The photos below were taken during our vacation in New York City. We had a lovely time with my family, saw a Broadway musical, did some holiday shopping and ate some delicious meals.

Behind the Bar with Jacinta Moore's Rose Martini

Check out our post last Friday on Design*Sponge. We were so lucky to have Jacinta Moore share her Rose Martini with us. You may be familiar with Jacinta through her amazing photos of the Cinque Terre - if not, you must check them out: here!
I have been following her blog "bawkbawkbawk" for some while and thought she would be the perfect "Behind the Bar" feature.
The Rose Martini would be the perfect drink for a Holiday Party or just for sipping after a long day of Christmas shopping, caroling, present wrapping and all general holiday madness: )

A Party in Paoli...

Our friend just send us this wonderful and simple table setting that her friend Anna put together from easy items that are often found around the home.

"At a recent dinner my friend, Anna, amazed us with her ability to take simple items and turn them into an interesting and beautiful tablescape. The dinner setting was used for Thanksgiving dinner as well as an engagement party the following night.
To create this look Anna brought in a found tree branch from the backyard (it had already fallen off the tree, no trees were harmed) and hung it from the ceiling beams above using picture and fishing wire. For the Thanksgiving feast she draped the branch with Cranberry Garland and silver sprayed eucalyptus reeds. For the engagement party she replaced the cranberries with a crystal garland. She also hung lanterns from the branch and the soft votive candlelight really added to the overall ambiance and atmosphere.
For the “kids table” in the adjacent room Anna filled vases with smaller branches draped with crystal garland and silver sprayed eucalyptus.
In place of more traditional floral arrangements Anna floated cranberries in a large vase filled with tulips, hypericum berries and more silver sprayed eucalyptus. It was truly spectacular and so easy :)"
If you would like to create this look at home here are the items we recommend from HORNE:

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Ryan and I went to Linvilla Orchard this past weekend. We chopped down our very own Christmas Tree with our niece, nephew and our sister, Ashley. Check out our iPhone photos!

If having a live Christmas tree just isn't your thing you should pick up one of our Lovi Birch Wood Christmas Trees. The 4 foot tree is amazing in person and looks smashing when decorated with an eclectic mix of ornaments.
