You Make It!
I am sure many of you may already have seen this but I still had to share. The incredibly talented Lindsey Adelman has provided all of us with step-by-step instructions on how to make this beautiful chandelier. I priced it out and it comes to about $125 in parts (not including tax and shipping). See Lindsey's Birds + Bees table lamp at HORNE.

Lend a helping hand
Whenever Alissa is having a bad day I know exactly what to do -- I load her in the car and drive her to my sister's house to visit our niece (21 months) and nephew (16 weeks). There is just something about their smiles and laughter that seems to wash over us and make us forget about whatever it was that was bothersome.
Thinking about this devastation in Haiti brings tears to my eyes and we are reaching out to everyone today to lend a helping hand. We felt very strongly about donating to help the children so we made our first contribution to Unicef. We ask that if you are able, please donate whatever you can. There is no such thing as a small donation, especially when it comes to children.

Town & Country Wedding Features HORNE wedding!
I am so excited to be finally sharing the news that our wedding is featured in the Spring/Summer 2010 issue of Town&Country Weddings! We were interviewed for the magazine in September of '09 and it has been killing me to wait this long to share the news.
The magazine did an amazing job of capturing the magic of the day and Audrey's article was as sweet as could be. I got to relive our entire relationship from the first moment I laid eyes on Ryan until our amazing honeymoon! I must have rambled on for hours about everything from our magical date in New York City to wanting to move to Paris after visiting it on our honeymoon. What is most special to me is that they included a photo of my 87 year-old grandmother and me! That is something I will be showing the kids.
I have to admit I carry the magazine in my purse and make sure to show everyone I see but nothing beats the excitement of my mother. I swear there is not a dry eye in West Texas as she has made it her mission to recount the story of our relationship to pretty much everyone she knows. No daughter could ask for a better mother!
wishing everyone a great day! a+r

Fantastic Mr. Fox
We saw these window displays at the Bergdorf Goodman Men's store in Manhattan and were instantly inspired to see the new Wes Anderson movie, Fantastic Mr. Fox. And oh what a treat it was. Apparently they took a few liberties with the original story-line but it was, well, FANTASTIC!

Happy New Year & il buco
Over the Holidays Alissa and I went in to Manhattan to meet up with the family and we all had lunch at the the amazing il buco. The food was delicious and the ambiance was so much fun (especially the chandeliers). We arrived early (by New York standards) but by 1:00pm the small restaurant was packed with hungry patrons eager to indulge in a little Italian wine and food. We highly recommend it next time you are in New York.
P.S. This also happens to be the restaurant where Christina Hendricks of Mad Men was married!!!
