La Bastide de Marie

I have had hotels on the brain lately as we have been finalizing the plans for our honeymoon. For part of the trip, we will be staying at La Bastide de Marie in Menerbes (I am so excited). They have a spa for Alissa and I hear the chef occasionally lets guests into the kitchen to cook with him :-) Plus they make their own wine!

La Bastide de Marie is a converted farmhouse that was brought to life by hotelier Jocelyne Sibuet (who owns several other hotels throughout France). The food, which is partially included in the nightly rate, is focused on fresh, local ingredients that emphasize the flavors of the region. This particular area is also known for their dry rose (nothing like the sweet white Zinfandel we are familiar with in America) which is currently staging a coup in the wine world.

  1. This place seems like heaven on Earth! And I love the idea of being a 'guest' in the kitchen - brilliant!

Not sure where your honeymoon travels are taking you throughout France, but if you find yourselves in St. Tropez, please do spend some time at the Hotel Pastis! It is utterly divine....
