Collages!!!
I love, love, love collages. Right now I am most inspired by Lulu de Kwiatkowski, Peter Beard and Clare Goddard.
Lulu's collages can be found in her first monograph published last May. Ryan bought me the book for Christmas and I am still absolutely in awe of the beauty in her work. I don't know a lot about Ms. De Kwiatkowski other than the fact that she makes textiles and grew up in a very privileged world. However, I do know that I cannot get enough of her book "LULU." I even used a page as inspiration for our wedding invitation.
Peter Beard is also rocking my world right now. I was fortunate to be introduced to his work while I was interning at the Fahey/Klein Gallery in Los Angeles. A must see for photo lovers. Again, I am fuzzy on his background other then the fact that he bought a ranch in Africa and grew up in the upper echelon of society. His work is very controversial, often considered disturbing, objectifying and self-important. Yet, I love every inch of his work. When you look past all of the political, environmental, sexist crap you are left with an amazingly unique viewpoint.
And last but not least is Clare Goddard. I had the opportunity to meet Clare and I was truly charmed. She is funny, caring, passionate and cheeky. Clare uses found objects to create her collages. They "offer a new significance and a new understanding of those objects, through their transformation and readjustment." You can find a couple of Clare's collages on our website.

HORNE's home on Design*Sponge
Today Grace and Anne of Design*Sponge featured a sneak peek of our home. It was a fun project that finally got us to hang that stray piece of artwork that we kept putting off and move that rug from the office to the kitchen. Alissa shot all of the images with her hasselblad (film, I know -- shes a purist, what can I say) and we made a day of it. The support and comments from all of the D*S readers was wonderfully sweet and supportive so a special thank you to everyone who stopped by to see how we live. We will try to answer everyone's questions via the comments section on the post so make sure to check back later tonight.
Thank you Grace and Anne for including us!!
