Adobe Christmas Card
My super-talented sister, Katelyn, created this amazing Christmas card for my family's business. The Adobe House is one of the ranch-houses on our land originally lived-in by cattle ranchers and was recently lovingly restored by my father. It now houses a visual history of my family and their business, JE Parker Ranchlands. This sure does beat the usual Christmas Card which would consist of a poorly photoshoped picture of my father, dressed as Santa, dangerously climbing a windmill. Good Job Katelyn!!

It's me...I swear!
So, I was browsing some wedding blogs today (yes even though I am married I just can't seem to tear myself away from them) and I saw myself! Jose Villa is advertising on the blog StyleMePretty.com (my personal favorite) and is currently using my photo. You can't really tell it is me, my back is to the camera, but still! It totally made my day. Ryan thinks I am a cheeseball but it is the little things that make me happy.
p.s. come january we may have some exciting news about our wedding! stay tuned.

"Here we come a wassailing..."
Check out our "Behind the Bar" column for Design*Sponge. We featured a Wassail Punch that tastes just as good as it looks. While away for Thanksgiving, we made it with my sister, Jillian, and her boyfriend, Paul. We listened to crackly jazz on Paul's record player and drank the fruit's of our labor while we put up some Christmas ornaments.
p.s. we just added some BEAUTIFUL vintage quilts!
Have a great weekend!

Tuesday Musings...
We have found a new, fun way to spend our Tuesday nights. Last week, we checked out movie night at the Old City Cheese Shop. We watched Bleu (of the trilogy, Troi couleurs, by Krzysztof Kieslowski) ate a huge cheese plate with bread and crab apples and drank red wine. Every Tuesday night, they pull down a screen in front of the cheese case and play a movie. Unfortunately, we will miss tonight because we are packing for Thanksgiving in Maine. Tomorrow Ryan and I will head our for Portland. This is the third year our whole family will meet up with my sister to celebrate Thanksgiving. I am so excited to see everyone. Oh, and I can't wait to check out this store!
p.s. Have you guys heard about DailyCandy DEALS? I jumped on their deal today for hansel from basel and bought myself some cool new tights. I can't wait to get them!
Have a great weekend and Happy Thanksgiving!

GOLDEN IDEAS...
Check out the fun new ad campaign we created for the design blog Remodelista (the campaign will launch Nov 27). Ryan came up with the playful copy and I designed the layout. I think we make a pretty good team!
p.s. We just added a furniture section with the most beautiful small leather chairs I have ever seen! The K:5 model would be perfect in front of a fireplace.
Enjoy your weekend!

Who is the cuter baby?
In celebration of HORNE's first birthday, we thought it would be fun to post photos of our first birthdays! Even though Ryan swears he was a much cuter baby than me, I must say that in these photos I have him beat.
Alissa's First Birthday with her parents, Tim and Cid
In these next photos I'm not sure if it is my first or second birthday- but I couldn't resist posting them because I am just so darn cute!
Birthday Sale!
I can't believe HORNE has been up and running for a year! And what a year it has been. According to our blog we officially launched HORNE on November 10th (although I swear it was the 11th), we got married, attracted some major blog love from our favorites, had the awesome experience of being guest bloggers on Design Sponge only to become regular guest editors of the Behind the Bar Column, took an amazing honeymoon and saw HORNE grow and evolve during a very interesting time. We are so happy that people have responded to our on-line boutique. It has been a wonderful year and we have all of you to thank for that. As part of that thank you, we are having a Birthday Sale on some of our favorite and most popular items. Be sure to check it out here!
A huge thank you to all of our amazing customers,

Jielde - Signal vs. Loft
We get a lot of phone calls and email inquiries regarding the difference between the Jielde Signal series and the Jielde Loft series. Both are stunning and come in your choice of 18 colors, but the two are, in fact, quite different. The people over at Jielde were nice enough to take a picture of their entire collection of floor lamps so we can compare the two different lines. For your reference we have listed the type of lamp for each light on the right side of the image (see below - we don't sell all of the lamps on the left side so we decided not to bother with those).
[From right to left: Loft Zig-Zag, Loft Zig-Zag, Loft Zig-Zag, Loft Floor, Loft Zig-Zag, Loft Office, Signal Floor, Signal Zig-Zag, Signal Desk Lamp]
The first thing you probably noticed is that the heads, the poles and the bases of the Loft Series are all bigger than those of the Signal Series. The Loft Series can also be much taller and with the addition of each arm you gain more flexibility in positioning the lamp. One difference that you can't see in the picture is that the Signal Series will accept up to 40 watt bulbs while the Loft Series can accept up to 100 watt bulbs. Each is beautiful in its own way and each has its own purpose and function. If you need help choosing which Jielde lamp is right for you and your space, please contact us.

Paper faces on parade...
For Halloween, Alissa and I went to a masquerade ball/wedding in Milwaukee. Above is the illustration created by the talented Rory Kurtz which was used for their invitations and programs. It was a great event topped only by the fact that we got to dress up in fun masked costumes!

Gran's Candlesticks
I was browsing 1st Dibs last night and came across this familiar looking set of silver candlesticks. It was only 20 minutes later I was able to place them. This is the same candlestick that Harry Allen used to create his popular "Gran's Candlestick." Wouldn't it be fun to have a table-scape with silver and resin versions of these babies side-by-side?

We wanted to write a quick post to let you know we are home from France. We met some amazing people/designers and are SUPER excited about a whole bunch of new products that we will soon be offering.
Above is a Polaroid (well, technically, a Fuji instant film picture) we took at one of our favorite bistros in Paris (in the Marais area).
