We're Home!

Hello everyone!

We wanted to write a quick post to let you know we are home from France. We met some amazing people/designers and are SUPER excited about a whole bunch of new products that we will soon be offering.

Above is a Polaroid (well, technically, a Fuji instant film picture) we took at one of our favorite bistros in Paris (in the Marais area).

We will be away until Sept 22 on our Honeymoon/Buying Trip! It's been almost 5 months since our wedding and we can't wait. While in Paris, we will be looking for great new items and visiting some of the studios whose work we already carry. So look out for lots of great new products in the months to come!

14k and Blue Chalcedony Clusters

Just wanted to show you guys Ryan's latest jewelry creation. He made these beautiful earrings for my sister's Birthday. We wanted the presentation to be unique so we found on old book and cut off the cover. I added some brown hand-painted lettering and volia! Check out his other amazing jewelry skizels on our Design*Sponge guest blog.

Have a great weekend!

Design*Sponge Post!

Ich, Ni, San, Shi cocktail
Woo! Hoo! Our new column is up on Design*Sponge right now! I seriously love that blog and I can't even believe that we now have our very own column called Behind the Bar. Every month we will share a new drink with D*S readers and gear it around a party propped with items from our store. Today's post featured a drink from APO that isn't even on their menu yet! If you are ever in the Philadelphia area you should definitely check them out.

4th Street Deli

Being a vegetarian, I am usually not a huge fan of Delis (what with their focus on meat, a lot of meat) but Alissa finally convinced me that we needed to try "The Famous 4th St. Deli" in Philadelphia. We have heard only good things about it so we ventured down one Saturday afternoon for lunch.

The vegetarian options were incredibly limited (I had a bagel, cream cheese and lox) but I have never learned so much about meats, cheeses and cured seafood in one place than I did that afternoon. I never knew there was a difference between lox and nova nor did I ever really know the difference between pastrami and corned beef.

After making our selections our food arrived very quickly. As I laid my eyes on the most ridiculously large sandwich I had ever seen (or was possibly ever even made) the server miraculously produced two take-away containers from behind his back, "for your leftovers." And oh were there ever leftovers.
After we were finished eating, we both sat, well, content (read: overstuffed) waiting for the check. Neither of us could even fathom eating anytime even in the next month but 4th Street wasn't quite finished with us. The server brought two freshly baked chocolate chip cookies to the table as he presented us with the check. And good thing he buttered us up with the cookies because each of our sandwiches was around $17 (but I must admit it definitely fed me for the next two days.)

All-in-all a good experience and I'm definitely glad we tried it, but I am not sure I will make it back anytime soon (although I am sure Alissa will find a way to get me there).

If you're in the Philadelphia area you can find 4th Street Deli on the corner of 4th street and Bainbridge.

Coca Cola

A quick visual history of Coke's bottles. Oh how I want that one in the upper left corner. Make sure to keep checking back because we have a TON of new products that we will continue to add to the boutique over the next few weeks.
